My name is Michael (Mike) Horihan. I am a Republican running for the County Board of Supervisors in Cedar County. I have spent the majority of my public safety career, spanning 43 years, in this part of Iowa.
Currently, I am the West Branch Police Chief as well as a crisis negotiator. I am a retired Iowa State Trooper and former safety education officer, teaching elementary and high school students. In addition, as a State Trooper, I was a member of the emergency response team (S.W.A.T) and a pilot. Having served in the Army, I am also a veteran. My service mainly involved handling very sensitive security issues as a military police officer.
Most importantly, I am family oriented.
I am happy to discuss any issues with all voters and citizens.
